Rodney Sanders met wife, Debbie, when he was selling medical products to nursing homes. Debbie was working as a nursing home administrator in one of the facilities Rodney serviced. They started dated in 1997 and were married in 2002. Rodney exposed Debbie to the joys of bass fishing and deer hunting and said she "really enjoyed learning."
Debbie has two boys, Matt and Jon, who are now in their late 20s. Rodney said they're "pretty good stepkids; can't complain." Rodney and Debbie have six grandchildren. "It's been fun having the little ones around for weekends," said Rodney. "Getting old has its benefits."
Rodney currently works as an insurance agent through a company out of Edmond, Oklahoma. He does enrollments for several nursing homes throughout the state setting up employee benefits packages.
Rodney is still an avid bass fishing angler. He's spent the last 15 years fishing in tournaments around the state and has fared quite well. He also did a lot of antiquing/
collecting, but sold everything when he moved back to Sallisaw in 2005.
Rodney said he 's really looking forward to the reunion this year. He hasn't been able to attend the previous reunions. "Let's party," he said.
